Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a Canadian-American comedian, actress, and writer. O'Hara has been the recipient of a number of distinctions that include an award called a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. She also received the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara made her name as an actress when she was a part of 1974 of The Second City, an Improvisational comedy troupe based out of Toronto. Along with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the main casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work on Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic acting and writing abilities, earning her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for an episode of a Variety Series in 1982. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
